Periapicals - shows the entire tooth, including the root and surrounding bone.
They're useful in diagnosing periodontal disease, abscesses, and
impacted teeth, as well as other conditions.
Panoramic - gives a complete view of both jaws on one film.
Used as a reference in the extraction of wisdom teeth; also valuable in
the diagnosis of abnormal growths.
